The Best Excuse Story

As a personal trainer, I've heard every excuse in the book but the more you give into your excuses, the worse off you'll feel. My job is to make sure that you are at your best, and I will do whatever it takes. I need to change my clients name for confidentiality reasons so we will call her Anna Fender (an offender if you didn`t catch that one).

Anna called me to cancel her at home training session one day. She was laughing on the other end and said she had to cancel due to a pedicure she had just had and couldn’t put on her running shoes. I said ok and hung up. If you've seen the excuse chart I created, guess where this would fall? That's right, not acceptable. Right away, I called her husband and told him to make sure she ate dinner as soon as she returned home because I would be over in two hours. His reply was, “See you at your funeral!” I showed up and rang the doorbell. She opened the door looked at me and slammed the door in my face. I could hear her on the other side yelling, “Get the beep out of here”. My reply was, “Open the beeping door woman! She did and gave me the look of demise. I told her to get changed into her workout clothes because I wasn’t leaving. I trained her and it was an intense session. I called it tough love but she called it hell. After the session was done, she thanked me for being such a pain in her ass. She never gave me any pitiful excuses again.

P.S Her pedicure was actually really nice!
